Lorenzo Oggiano (1964, Padova - Italy) works in photography, video, new media, installations, assemblages. He has a Master's Degree in Visual Arts, University of Bologna / D.A.M.S. (Department of Art, Music and Performing Arts). Since the early nineties Lorenzo Oggiano is engaged in an artistic and theoretical research concerning the biological, sensorial and cognitive mutations induced by technologies and the aesthetic and communicative potentiality of new media tools. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions at several museums, galleries, art festivals and public places around Europe, the U.S.A., Asia, Australia and can be found internationally in public and private collections. "Quasi-Objects / Cinematic Environment #8" is the ninth video of the "Quasi-Objects" cycle.
"Quasi-Objects" is an art project (2003 - ongoing) consisting of 3d generated videos and prints, a practice of "organic re-design" that aims to process its synthetic / combinatory genesis as an operative advantage to stimulate thought and dialogue on the progressive relativisation of natural forms of life as consequence of techno-biological evolution. "Quasi-Objects" regards data actualization, the visualisation of synthetic organisms and ecosystems as transient output of an operative practice: "aesthetics of process".
"Life is a real and autonomous process independent from any specific material manifestation."
